A team of scientists who know radiology cold.
Histolyx is a small, focused team. Everyone here has been close to the radiology workflow problem — either through direct clinical involvement or through years of building imaging-adjacent software. We know what radiologists actually do at a PACS workstation, and we built the tool around that reality rather than around what looked good in an investor demo.
Dr. Mei Lin
CEO & Co-Founder
Founded Histolyx in 2024 after two years embedded with radiology departments in the San Diego area. Observed that the first four to six minutes of each chest CT read was dominated by search — finding things — rather than interpreting them. Built Histolyx to eliminate that step. Drives product strategy, clinical partnerships, and the company's insistence on honest performance measurement. Based in San Diego.
Sara Nkrumah
CTO & Co-Founder
Designed and built Histolyx's DICOMweb integration layer, inference pipeline, and structured report generation system. Obsessive about latency — the under-90-second analysis target is her engineering constraint, not a marketing claim. Background in distributed systems and healthcare data infrastructure.
Dr. James Okafor
Chief Medical Officer
Practicing radiologist who serves as Histolyx's clinical reviewer, threshold calibration partner, and internal ground-truth reference. His reading room experience is the practical constraint behind every detection sensitivity decision. Ensures Histolyx's output is genuinely useful to radiologists, not just technically impressive.
Chen Wei
Senior ML Engineer
Leads model development for Histolyx's chest CT and mammography detection systems. Previously worked on medical image segmentation research. Brings particular focus to reducing false-positive rate without sacrificing finding recall — the calibration problem at the heart of pre-reader usefulness.
